Abstract

Adapted physical and sports activities are varied and diverse, including educational, recreational, and competitive activities, and they can be practiced by all segments of society, from children to adults and the elderly, from the able-bodied to the disabled, and from patients to healthy individuals, as well as from ordinary people to high-level athletes. These physical and sports activities are behaviors performed by individuals for work, recreation, therapy, or prevention, whether planned or spontaneous. There is no doubt that practicing them has positive effects on an individual's health (physical, psychological, social, mental, economic), especially among the disabled and special groups. Therefore, specialists and participants in this field should understand the true concepts of adapted physical and sports activities and the importance of practicing them for these groups, in order to guide members of society to participate in them for a better life.
