Abstract

The issue of honor is one of the issues that grabbed the attention of the alawite authority in the far Maghreb. All kinds of research and investigation were conducted on it, since the alawite state was the first honorable state independent of the east, explicitly attested by genealogy in that era. The rulers of the alawite dynasty worked since their first reign in morocco to combat all attempts to impersonate the noble lineage. In addition to the religious symbolism of honor, the sultans of the alawite dynasty worked to exploit this issue for purely political purposes, by employing the honorable lineage in these issues, and trying to legitimize their authority over the far Maghreb.
