Abstract

Since General de Gaulle came to power in 1958, he believed that it was possible to keep French Algeria if two basic conditions were met. First, the Elimination of the National Liberation Army. Second, carrying out social and economic reforms. In order to achieve the first condition, he strengthened his position with a military leadership, headed by General Challe Who presented him with a military program that included basic axes to abort the revolution within each state.
