Abstract

The naturalized Algerian intelligentsia is part of the Algerian elite that fought for progress and awareness within the local population in Algeria. Their methods were peaceful, and their ideas a blend of local heritage and Western culture in general, with a particular influence from the French school of thought. Among these figures is Rabah Zenati, a journalist and writer, and a prominent member of various associations. He authored a book titled Le Problème Algérien vu par un Indigène (The Algerian Problem as Seen by a Native). He also founded two newspapers, Voix des Indigènes (The Voice of the Natives) and La Voix Libre (The Free Voice). Zenati was a multi-talented activist and intellectual.
