Abstract

The role of cultural heritage is crucial in the formation of national identity, thus it remains a major concern for intellectual elites and governing authorities in both developed and developing countries. This focus coincides with the challenges that societies face, often termed cultural globalization. Algerian society is not an exception to this principle. The colonial era experienced fierce debates regarding this matter, and in this analysis, we will seek to shed light on the subject and the resulting inquiries
