French colonialism in Mauritania
Keywords:
Mauritania, location, colonialism, FranceAbstract
Mauritania was occupied by several European countries starting from Portugal and ending with France, as a result of the privileged location that it enjoys, as it represented the trade route between Africa and Europe, as it links the north of the African continent with its west, and after a series of wars between the European country around West Africa In general and Mauritania in particular, the latter was given to France formally, and colonialism was followed at the beginning of the matter by peaceful diplomacy with the Mauritanian Emirates, because Mauritania was made up of several emirates and each emirate is independent of the other, and it can be said that the current borders that Mauritania knows are a product of French colonialism, As a result of national resistance and rejecting colonialism, France pursued a policy of total submission, and this was done after 1934.
