Abstract

The present health status had a significant effect on various economic, social, demographic and cultural fields Emir Abdelkader is one of those who left a very important mark by his contributions in health aspect, although, Algeria knew a several political and social problems during this period, that was caused by French occupation that has largely affected the sanitary conditions of the Algerian society during the reign of Emir Abdelkader, he knew a spread of epidemics and diseases in Algeria, as well As a life degradation of the Algerian society, the study will try to treat the contributions of Emir Abdelkader in medical and health-care of the Algerian soci ety, and know the most important epidemics and diseases among in Algeria, their impacts and consequences, and then the methods that the French colonialism has adopted in repelling those epidemics.
