Abstract

This Article aims to introduce the rural urban centers (Castella) that are located in the west of the Cirta region, whichwerechosenfromamong the 18 rural urban centers around Cirta, whichwereinitiallyestablished for a defensivepurpose in the midst of running the so-called Cirta confederation system, but soonturnedinto To important economic centers in addition to being centers for collectinglevy and tax, and the reason for choosingthese sites locatedfrom the western sidewasbecause of the Roman militarysettlement in thisregion and commercial activityrepresented in several rural markets, I concludedthatthese adjacent urban sites west of Cirta were of great importance from the political, economic and social point of view to the Roman system. It containedhighly fertile lands thatprovided grain and olives, in addition to fruit orchards, and thusformed important economic centers.

Three funerary and one imperial inscription were counted, this research paper attempts to induce, to study the textual contents of those epigraphic documents and to put them into their contextual and historical frameworks.
