National and international legislations aiming to protect cultural heritage

Abstract

Considering that the cultural heritage is the physical evidence to what nations left behind as civilizations, the international community has attached a great importance, in the cotemporary period, to protect it. From this aspect, the international legislator has enacted laws, through its various organizations, in the objective of protecting the cultural heritage. Within this scope, the Algerian legislator has followed the same steps by adopting a legislative policy inspired from the international conventions which aims at protecting the cultural heritage. In addition, it has set up regulations to be a sufficient tool in the hands of the law enfoncement to fight acts of prejudice towards the cultural heritage and securely transfer it to future generations.
