The french-Algerian negotiations 1956-1962 through Algerian and french writings and Swiss archive documents

Abstract

The study aims at identifying the course of Algerian-French negotiations between the years 1956-1962, through previous local and foreign studies, and Swiss archived documents and available electronically. The study also addresses the role of the Swiss mediation in said negotiations, which took place thanks to several personas notably: Olivier Long, Charles-Henri Favroud, through which the Algerian cause was pushed forward along with the negotiations. All the way to the Evian Accords, which are considered a victory to negotiators and the Algerian people, from which emanated the ceasefire agreement, Which put an end to the Algerian war and ended 132 years of French colonialism in Algeria, which wreaked havoc and devastation in the land of Algeria.
