The role of the French orientalist and spy Leon Roche in consolidating the pillars of French colonialism in Algeria

Abstract

        In this article, we seek to highlight one of the most important pillars adopted by the colonial administration in stabilizing its foundations in Algeria, and to strike the resistance of Prince Abd-el-Kader from within, in addition to understanding the constituent structures of Algerian society in general and Islamic religion in particular, and then finding the best policy to exploit it in favor of his country's colonial plans. He is an orientalist, translator and French spy Leon Roche.
