The trade in the Maghreb Arab region during the Ottoman Empire in 18th - 19th century

Abstract

Since there is not enough scientific research that undertakes economic and social studies of the Maghreb Arab region during the Ottoman reign. We have considered studying the region of Algeria, Tunisia and Western Tripoli. And cast the light upon the trade that had been undergoing in the 18th -19th century and its development and change. Therefore, we have focused in our article on the reasons that helped creating and flourishing the trade at the Maghreb Arab internally and externally, the extent of its contribution. Finally, we have listed the main problems the hampered the trade growth and how the European countries used it to seize the region during the 19th century.
