Joint cooperation in the maritime jihad between Algeria and Morocco and the European reactions (1659-1727AD)

The Mediterranean Sea was characterized by being the scene of conflict between its northern Christian and southern Islamic banks, and piracy was more active during the second half of the 17th century, and Muslims considered it a jihad against the Christian. In maritime jihad thanks to the strength of their fleet and their mutual maritime cooperation and their threat to European countries. This article addresses within the framework of Algerian-Moroccan relations the issue of joint cooperation in maritime jihad between them by highlighting the difference between maritime jihad and piracy fleets and focus on cooperation between them in maritime jihad against European ships and coasts, as it shows European reactions
