Abstract

The Islamic Maghreb had known the emergency of many countries that tried building economy based on a set of components including currency which faced counterfeiting and fraud, because it was the main way for commercial transaction. The counterfeiting was by mixing gold with silver and silver with copper, in front of this situation, the state found itself obliged to confront this phenomenon by pursue counterfeiters and inflict maximum sanctions on them. Fakih also sought to find a solution to counterfeit money, especially if it was handled, so, he permitted moratalat native money with counterfeited ones. Counterfeiting currency was practised by multiple parties among them the rebels on the state and even the state itself.
