Science and the Arts in the Ancient Arabian Peninsula from the 5th century BC to the 2nd century AD

Abstract

The mixing of the ancient Arabs with the nations that contemporaneously enabled them to know and acquire many sciences in different fields; In the field of astronomy, the ancient Arabs knew the positions of the stars and knew the years, months, days and hours, and divided the year into seasons; In the field of mathematics, the ancient Arabs used algebra and geometry; They also excelled in the sciences of horses, history, medicine and veterinary, and were interested in the arts of architecture, music, singing and sculpture. The aim of this study is to know the sciences and arts that the ancient Arabs knew, and to differentiate between what is original and what is foreign to them, and one of the results of that is that the Arabs discovered sciences attributed to them, and acquired and developed other sciences.
