Psychological burnout among hockey referees

Abstract

The research aims to identify psychological burnout among hockey referees. The descriptive approach was used in order to suit the nature and objectives of the research. The research sample consisted of (22) referees. The statistical treatments were the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Cronbach’s alpha, frequencies, and percentage. The results of the research showed that the degree of psychological burnout among hockey referees reached the percentage Their response rate was (60.2%). The researchers recommend the necessity of preparing programs for the psychological rehabilitation of hockey referees, paying attention to the social relations between referees, coaches, players, and the public, conducting a psychological evaluation of referees after every match they referee, and taking advantage of their strengths and weaknesses
