Abstract

The study aimed to identify the causes of psychological stress among football referees in the Sudanese Premier League in 2026. The sample consisted of 70 referees, including 12 international referees and 58 national referees. The researchers used the descriptive method and a questionnaire comprising five dimensions: players, administration, sports media, referees, and spectators. The main findings indicated that insufficient knowledge of the Laws of the Game among some media personnel and players, administrative refusal to respond to some referees' demands, and certain negative spectator behaviors were among the most prominent sources of psychological stress. - Administration's refusal to respond some of the demands of the referees
